Solar adsorption Air Coditioning (SAAC) system is similar to vapor compression 
system in which compressor is replaced by solar heat driven adsorption bed. 
The adsorption bed is integrated with a flat plate solar collector and contains a 
porous adsorbent medium (CaCl2). The adsorbed content of refrigerant varies cyclically, depending on the adsorbent temperature and system pressure, which varies between a maximum limit set by the condensation pressure and a minimum limit imposed by the evaporation pressure. Refrigerant used is NH3 as it has greater affinity towards the salt (CaCl2). This model is a design model for Solar Adsorption Air conditioning System (SAAC). Solar flat plate collector is attached to the bed reactor for heat generation process. The cycle contains the following:
1-Evaporator.
2-Bed reactor tank.
3-Solar collector (FPC/water).
4-Condenser.
5-Expansion valve.
6-CaCl2 is used as a bed salt.
7-NH3 is used as a main refrigerant.

8-Excell sheet for saturated liquid & vapor lines and superheat region.

 

**MatLab-SimuLink should be used to run the model.
