This model is about single effect MVC/NanoFilteration evaporation powered by mechanical vapor compression for seawater desalination. Solar collectors (Parabolic Trough Collector PTC and/or Evacuated Tube Collector ETC are used in combination with single flash tank for starting up process. Solar PV pannels are used for electric loads. The plant includes the following:
1-Single effect evaporation.
2-Mechanical vapor compression.
3-Distillate/Feed preheater (plate heat exchanger).
4-Brine/Feed preheater (Plate heat exchanger).
5-Nanofilteration unit as a pre-stage.
6-Solar collector field for start up.
7-Single flash tank.
8-Photovoltaic is used for electric power generation (pumps).

For Solar Collectors (PTC and/or ETC) design model, user will be able to discover the total area based on the assigned thermal load volume. The following paramters can be calculated:
1-Mean plate temperature.
2-Total area.
3-Overall losses.
4-Efficiency.
5-exergy analysis.

 

**MatLab-SimuLink should be used to run the model.
